resuscitation of Training Workshops on the Millennium Development
In order to accelerate the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to support efforts by the Government of Morocco's Fight against poverty and safeguard and enhance cultural heritage, the United Nations system, in 5 agencies: UNIDO, UNDP, UNESCO, UNFPA, UNIFEM, in partnership with a dozen national entities and NGOs, have launched a joint program entitled "The cultural and creative industries as vehicles for development in Morocco (2008-2011). This program aims to promote the development potential of collective and individual advancement particularly for the poorest that includes the enhancement of cultural resources of the country, substantially improving the national and local capacity to develop them as well as leading in some areas of intervention demonstrative actions targeted.
The program was structured around the deepening of knowledge of cultural heritage, its valuation, capacity building of heritage professionals and the implementation of pilot projects, and this, through a gender perspective and valuation of women's contribution and youth. This program operates in an area Guelmim, Tata and Assa, called convergence zone or the UN agencies want to have a visible impact on the MDGs over the next three years.
Within this framework and to enhance efforts in promoting and raising awareness of local stakeholders and civil society in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and include the perspective of women and youth in achieving the said objectives, as UNIFEM in partnership with the Program develop sustainable south and e UNDP, local and regional stakeholders, organize training sessions for capacity building of local partners MDGs Culture and local NGOs in advocacy for monitoring and evaluation of the Millennium Development Goals.
Study objectives:
- Review of the MDGs in order to see the relevance of targets, indicators and the need to identify in line with the context of development of oasis zones,
- Familiarize local actors and civil society with the processes of planning and monitoring to achieve the MDGs,
- Strengthen the capacities of participants in the knowledge of the MDGs to better equip them to accompany local actors in its efforts to achieve these objectives for a sustainable and harmonious development of oasis zones,
- Raising civil society and the media about the increasing role they will play in the development of political development at regional level.
Expected Results:
- 1. Participants (s) acquired: *
conceptual frameworks related to the achievement of the MDGs at the local and regional
* analysis tools, monitoring and evaluation indicators related to MDGs.
- 2. Participants (es) have better coping methods related MDGs by local and regional needs.
- 3. Participants (s) are able to prepare reports to local and regional level aimed at achieving the MDGs.
- 4. The MDGs are accessible to all levels of society.
Course Length: 6 days.

Participant (s) training:
A group of thirty people consisting of representatives of various local (municipal, National Mutual Aid, Culture, Handicrafts, Tourism ,.....), and local associations working in the field of cultural heritage preservation.
Tasks / consultation (e)
- Prepare teaching materials, a methodological approach and the training modules tailored to the MDG target
- Prepare examples of good practices from case studies, Gender, Cultural Heritage and the MDGs.
- Provide analytical tools to operationalize the learning outcomes and the vision to integrate the MDGs in the practices and daily activities of the participant (s);
- Upgrade participants compared to the concept, approach and methodology for monitoring and analysis of the MDGs;
- Animate the training session. Deliverables:
- Provide the modules and presentations (both paper and electronic);
- Produce a report at the end of the training illustrated with photographs (A paper version and other electronics in Arabic or French).
Qualifications / consultation (e) The
(a) consultant (e) shall
- Proof of a university education in social development studies, political science, social, law or similar fields;
- Have experience confirmed in the field of gender training, MDGs, and cultural heritage;
- Mastering the tools of animation and interactive participatory
- Good knowledge and experience of editing tools projects / programs;
- Knowledge of the situation and the national context in terms of cultural heritage;
- Have a perfect command of Arabic and French and can conduct training in both languages.
