By a letter dated 15 May 1878, Mr Warden mayor of the town, he was arrested :
Art. 1: There shall be established in the town duVanneau a subdivision of firefighters which employs 50 men
Art. 2: The officers of the subdivision are set as follows
1 1 Sub-Lieutenant Lieutenant
2 Sergeants 4 Corporals
a drum or bugle
In a letter dated October 18, 1875 The Mayor of the town asked the prefect for the modalities to acquire two fire engines, one for the town of Plover and the other for the town of Irleau
dated March 21, 1908 by a letter from A. Fallières, President of the French Republic Mr Ernest
MATHE was promoted to Deputy Fire Lieutenant.
